There is an on-site Bistro with a bowling alley inside. Next to it is a swimming pool which lacks any changing rooms, loungers or even a ladder to get in and out. The toilets are fairly modern but are completely devoid of toilet paper, soap or even a hand dryer. It’s not that they have run out and neglected to replenish, there is nowhere they would go. Since then, I’ve seen a lot more showers. Many better and many worse. 2 years on I’ve come back to see if things have improved. The shower building is still the same, a row of showers and toilets exiting directly outside. Last time one of my complaints was that only one of the light bulbs appeared to be working, during my latest visit it appeared that no lightbulbs were working. ...

Pressure ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Temperature ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Shower Head ⭐⭐⭐ Mechanism ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Environment ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The showers here are great, there are plenty available and the pressure and temperature are great even at peak times. The mechanism is very sensitive, however, you only need to move it a tiny bit to get from freezing cold to far too hot. The shower head is not removable and it was positioned quite awkwardly where the water was kind of all over the place. You didn’t feel like you were getting the full benefit of the pressure.

Pressure ⭐ Temperature Shower Head ⭐⭐⭐ Mechanism ⭐ Environment This is a very cheap camp site next to a very nice lake. There is a cafe, but it’s only open for 2 hours per day 3 days a week. There is a single shower, it is a normal glass shower cubicle that you might find in someones home, only it’s sat outside on a pallet next to a temporary toilet block. There are two modes: on and off. There is one temperature (cold) and one pressure (hard) and everyone can see you whilst you’re showering.

Pressure ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Temperature ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Shower Head ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mechanism ⭐⭐⭐ The Marriott Manchester Piccadilly is a hotel in Manchester that is almost impossible to get to by car. The shower it’s self is fairly inoffensive and clearly modern. It was almost the perfect shower, with great pressure, perfect temperature and a choice of both a handheld and overhead shower head. However, the mechanism was frustrating. None of the knobs were labeled, leaving you naked and afraid trying to and figure it out. To add insult to injury, the positioning of the shower door means that if you make the wrong move whilst trying to make sense of it you are blasted with cold water.

Pressure ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Temperature ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Shower Head ⭐⭐⭐ Mechanism ⭐ Anos Manor Hotel is a delightful and well situated hotel with rooms available for a great price. The Twin Room I stayed in was basic but comfortable and had everything you’d need for a short stay, although no socket by the bed was a con for the average Gen Z. The shower is situated inside the bathtub, and had a detachable shower head connected to an incredibly yellowed plastic mixer which contrasted the shiny modern aesthetic of the rest of the bathroom fittings. Figuring out the mechanism took some time, two concentric rings controlled the temperature and pressure with the temperature handily labeled with blue and red numbers. Selecting the desired temperature was easy, it took me a little bit longer to figure out the pressure. I turned the outer ring forwards and backwards for a while each time going a little further in either direction. Eventually the shower sprung to life with pressure not dissimilar to a water cutting jet. This was a welcome change from most hotel showers I review which barely produce a dribble, but I still took some time to finely tune it to the the correct pressure. The slightest over-adjustment would either turn the shower completely off or start to blast a hole in the floor.

Pressure ⭐ Temperature ⭐⭐⭐ Shower Head ⭐⭐ Mechanism ⭐⭐ Vanner Caravan, Camping & Holiday Cottages is a campsite the River Mawddach in Dolgellau. It’s a small but well equipped campsite with great access to local walking and hiking trails, although not great access to any amenities. I’m reviewing the campsite showers, rather than the holiday cottages. The showers themselves are within a small toilet block, they are quite spacious inside with hooks and some even have a little plastic stool. The shower mechanism was somewhat confusing, consisting of a lever and a knob with any indication of their function having worn off long ago. The lever was stiff, to the point where I felt as though I might break it. The water was a great temperature, although only with the knob all the way to the hot end. ...

Pressure ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Temperature ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Shower Head ⭐⭐ Mechanism ⭐⭐⭐ The York Pavilion Hotel sits unsurprisingly on the outskirts of York city centre. It’s an old building, with winding corridors and confusing room numbering. The rooms themselves are fairly basic, but the price and atmosphere more than makes up for it. The shower is also fairly basic, with a waterfall shower ahead and a traditional shower head below. Rather annoyingly, the traditional shower head operated independently of the waterfall head making it somewhat confusing. The water heated up quickly, and was a great temperature. The pressure wasn’t great, but it was just enough.

The shower head was detachable and even had different nozzle patterns, but they were all either a little too forceful or not forceful enough. The cubicle was quite cramped, with no shelf for your shampoo and no place to sit. The shelving was okay, but not really great for storing anything large on. Overall, given the constraints of the space it was probably the best they could do.

The shower was a nozzle sticking out of the wall with no way of moving it, but the spray was pretty good. The biggest issue here, however, was that there is nowhere to put your shower gel/shampoo. You could only put it on the floor.
